Sports Day, Wednesday 3rd July

This term we have decided to use the World Cup as a focus for our learning.  Each class in the school has been given a country - ours is Greece. We have talked about all the things we know already and the things we would like to find out.  If you would like to do any research with your child at home and bring this into school to share that would be wonderful!

A visit from a Pilot!

This week we had a vist from Captain Dobson of Monarch Airlines (Jonathon's dad) who gave us a very entertaining and informative presentation about flying a plane to Greece.  We learnt about the countries we would fly over, how high and how fast the 'plane would travel, flight paths, turbulance, taking off and landing and much more.  The children loved it and asked some excellent questions.

This week we will be tasting Greek food, reading and role playing Greek myths, cooking a Greek honey cake, learning Greek dancing and practising for our class assembly on Friday.  This starts at 2.30pm and we need to bring blue and white clothes (please see letter). Don't forget parents and family members are welcome.
