Year 3 Linden

Welcome To Linden Class

Hello my name is Mrs Moran and I would like to welcome your child into Year 3 Linden Class. We have some fantastic learning opportunities and activities awaiting us this term and I am looking forward to getting to know the class and working with them. I will try to update this page as regularly as possible to keep you informed of all the exciting new things we will be learning.

We are starting this year with a savage Stone Age themed History topic. This theme will also filter in to our artwork, D&T and Literacy. Our current science topic will focus on learning about different types of rocks, and we will hopefully spend some time exploring the environment in our local area.

For Maths we will begin the term by focusing on understanding number values and operations, and how we can use different methods to efficiently solve problems.

We are very lucky to receive additional teaching support from Mrs Tomlins, who will be working with our class Monday and Wednesday. Year 3 will also be beginning French lessons with Mrs Bailey. Our current outdoor PE sessions will be held with Mr Lees. Both Mrs Bailey and Mr Lees are teachers sharing their specialist knowledge, and are joining us from All Hallows for these lessons.

I have created areas below for useful information, important reminders, events, our timetable, letters and homework. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require any further information.

With best wishes,  Mrs. Moran

Our Working Walls

Spring Term

This term we have been very busy. We performed at the Macclesfield Music Festival with other schools. It was an entertaining evening and the children although exhausted, enjoyed themselves too.

Shrove Tuesday

On pancake day we had lots of fun making and eating pancakes which were delicious. After eating our pancakes we wrote detailed instructions about how to make pancakes.

Aristo Restaurant

In March we had an informative visit from Nikos and Lesley from the Greek restaurant. Nikos told us about his childhood in Greece and we learnt many new facts about Greece. We also enjoyed the delicious food prepared by Nikos. Most of the children tried all the dishes ranging from meatballs to feta cheese. We have written a report about Greece and this week we will be writing a thank you letter to Nikos and Lesley.
