Collective Worship in Year 1
Prayer and Liturgy consists of varying elements such as gathering and greeting, listening, reflecting, and responding in song, prayer and of course this includes the children’s own work and ideas.
Prayer and liturgy in Year 1 is teacher led with contributions from the children. Each Prayer and Liturgy session is led by the teacher who plans the session relating to a current topic or theme. The children assist in the preparation of our altar cloth and focal points and they also. The teacher will read a passage from the bible and with help from the children will choose a suitable response to the Word. The response to the Word is then read by the teacher or the children. The 'Going Forth Mission' is chosen by the teacher with contributions from the children and enables us to continue to reflect on our Prayer and Liturgy and to spread the Good News through a variety of deeds and kind words.
