Georgia O’Keefe

Georgia O’Keefe was a significant American female artist. She lived from 1887-1986 and loved doing abstract and colourful paintings. We have been looking at her pictures of plants and flowers. Rather than drawing and painting full plants, Georgia did detailed enlargements of part of the plant. Below are some of the examples we have looked at.

Task: Can you choose a favourite to copy? Make it fill your whole page and use whatever materials you have to add the colour and texture.

Hint: In school we used paint then layered pencil crayon on top and used felt tips to outline. You could even add tissue paper for a textured effect!
