Phonics: Please complete pages 38 to 41 with the sound ‘er’ and the irregular word (tricky word) ‘all.’
Maths: This week we have been looking again at subitising – this means saying the amount without having to count. This can be easy for smaller amounts like 1, 2 or 3 objects. It is also easier when objects are arranged in a structured pattern such as the dice patterns below.
Find groups of objects (between 1 and 6) that are the same and present them to your child in different arrangements (sometimes in random arrangements and sometimes in structured patterns like the dice patterns above). Ask them to say the amount without having to count. Ask them to explain how they saw the amount (for example for 6 - “I saw 3 and another 3”).
