During the past year, the Full Governing Body of St Alban’s Catholic Primary school has been deciding whether the school should consider converting to an Academy in order to join the Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Academy Trust (“MAT”). A Multi-Academy Trust is a group of schools who work collaboratively and are governed by one academy trust, but where each school nonetheless retains its own governing body in order to continue making decisions at a local level. All Hallows Catholic College (AHCC) is currently the only other member of the Holy Family of Nazareth MAT, but two other primary schools, Saint Mary’s in Congleton and St Paul’s in Poynton (who also feed into AHCC) have also taken the decision to explore conversion to Academy status in order to join the MAT. The DfE and Diocese have considered our joint application and have granted permission for us to explore the possibility further.
As part of the conditions for conversion we are required to have a formal consultation with all stakeholders. Please find a copy of the letter sent out as part of the consultation process below.
